Risks and FAQ
Straight answers to the usual questions.
Risks
- Coins can lose all their value. Trading is on a bonding curve with real slippage.
- fees.sh depends on the Pons contracts. If Pons pauses its fee sweeps, pre-graduation fees stay inside the curve until sweeps resume or the coin graduates.
- We match people by their X or GitHub numeric account id, not by handle. If an account is deleted, nobody can claim that account's fees.
- Privy embedded wallets depend on Privy staying online for signing unless you export the key. Export it if you want to be independent of them.
FAQ
Can fees.sh take my fees?
First-time identity binding trusts the attester, which the owner can replace. After binding, only the registered wallet can change the payout address; the attester cannot overwrite it. The owner can set the platform fee up to 10%. Read the security page and inspect the contract source.
What if I never sign in?
The fees stay credited to your vault until the identity is bound and claimed. Correct first-time binding depends on the attester verifying the account's ownership.
Can I change the wallet my fees go to?
Not yet from the app. The replacement contract exposes changeWallet(identityKey, newWallet), which must be called by the currently registered wallet. The attester and owner cannot recover a lost bound wallet for you.
Does the launcher pay anything to fees.sh?
No. Launching costs the Pons fee and gas only.
Why do I see "accruing" but cannot claim it?
Those fees are still inside the coin's bonding curve. Pons moves them to the escrow periodically and at graduation; they become claimable then.
Where are the coins listed?
Only coins launched through fees.sh appear on Explore. They are still ordinary Pons coins and show up on Pons as well.
